Unfortunately sights such as this are becoming a rarity around the town due to poor local cat and dog laws and pollution in the local creek areas all ruining the habitat from local wildlife. Its very frustrating to see this happening and the local council doing very little to combat this problem. Furniture, televisions, microwaves, washing machines, rubbish bins, supermarket trolleys, boots, plastic, roofing metal, drums, tyres is just some of the stuff you can see by looking through the Coffs Harbour Creek system. Thoughtless individuals are just destroying our beautiful towns ecology. The council recently removed some 350 truck loads of rubbish and they still havent even scratched the surface. Then theres the problem of constant street rubbish from take away food stores ending up in the creek system as well. This is a major issue and its effecting the water quality and habitat from many local species of turtles, fish, reptiles and birds. I photograph the wildlife all around this town almost daily and everywhere I go around the creek systems I see more rubbish being added. Wildlife habitats are just being totally destroyed. Some creek sections have just become a bubbling biomass of pollution. I hope this video will bring a little more attention to this major problem. Many people just prefer not to take any notice.
