Daylesford
A UNIQUE VISION IN SKETCH & COLOR PHOTOGRAPHY

2005 - By John Boom

Daylesford is around an 80 minute drive from Melbourne, Victoria Australia and
is nestled high in the hills. The town like many in the area was founded on gold
and has since prospered into a popular tourist destination.

Daylesford has many local attractions including a small lake, mineral water
springs in various surrounding areas, a weekly Sunday market and various
events throughout the year. There are several walking tracks through the bush
which makes an interesting walk coupled with several nice picnic spots to fill in a
day or more. Most of the stores are open 7 days per week and they cater well
for the tourism market.

The sketch photos I've taken reveal many interesting buildings and homes to
see. There's also the Daylesford Railway Station, which usually has tourism
trains running on weekends and public holidays. The train trip goes through the
Wombat State Forest and back. The train station doubles as a Sunday market
area every week. Most of the pictures will tell the story as you see them.
