Buninyong is a small former gold mining township located only a short
drive from Ballarat. First settled in 1838, the town lays claim to being one
of Victoria's first inland townships. Mount Buninyong overlooks the area
and offers breathtaking views of the whole area. The town has a nice
selection of stores and several historic homes to see.
