Broken Hill Pictorial
2008 - By John Boom
We arrived at Broken Hill for our first time visit and headed for the Lake
View Caravan Park to set up our caravan. Then we set out to view the
central city area which has many historic old buildings going back to the
boom mining period of the town.
Famous for its silver, lead and zinc mines there's a lot of history attributed
toward this mining town set in rural New South Wales Australia. The town
has an interesting selection of older homes all made from corrugated iron.
There are many mining relics scattered throughout the area reflecting its
great industrious past. Mining operations have been scaled down over the
years with only small mining operations taking place now. The pictorial has
380 photos of Broken Hill and Silverton extensively in high quality.
